About us – 'inside the BOX'
BOX BEAR is a media and communications consultancy owned and run by Jolyon Hennings and Steve French. With a corporate background in sales and communications with SmithKline Beecham and Organon Laboratories, as well as brand experience within FMCG for Procter and Gamble, they understand the business world and it’s needs. This, combined with years of experience away from work producing creative, original short films and organising events and stage shows, is the unique BOX BEAR mix.
Jolyon Hennings
Jolyon started his career at SmithKline Beecham as a vaccine sales rep before moving to Procter and Gamble in their dentistry division. He then stayed with P&G working on a variety of brands, stopping off for a brief spell as the voice of P&G to the UK trade as Trade Marketing Manager before ending up as Market Strategy and Planning Manager for Personal Healthcare, where he launched First Defence and Thermacare on an unsuspecting world.
Having always been interested in drama and the theatre, he met Steve whilst at University where they both learnt the basics of what was to become BOX BEAR, setting stages for productions and bands and making independent films (one a three hour epic!!).
Now living in Berkshire with his wife and kiddies, 3 chickens and a motorbike, he is the other half of BOX BEAR.
Steve French
Steve French began his career as a graphic designer, designing and producing advertisements for the car industry. He then began learning to understand how people work studying for a degree in Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire (where he met Jolyon).
Since university he has continued to develop his variety of skills in sales and marketing, initially for companies such as Galen, Organon Labs and Schering Plough, then as one of the founders of BOX BEAR Ltd - Interactive Media.
Steve is a talented cartoonist and thinks he can play the drums! Like Jolyon, he writes, produces, directs and acts in independent film.
